Are you looking to build your and your dog's bond, keep the day fun, and train in real-world environments? Our Guided Adventures are perfect for you!
Whether we're embarking on a hike or having a meet-and-greet at a dog-friendly restaurant, our trainers here at Venture Dog Training are committed to bringing adventure to your training lesson.
These group class style events are for advanced handler/dog teams who are looking to incorporate real-world stimuli into their lessons while learning how to safely navigate in public and group settings.
Your dog will work on the rotation of following behaviors:
(Each group hike will rotate a total of 3 behaviors for every hike. Please contact the trainer for guidance on which 3 behaviors are being trained and set up an initial lesson.) An in-home lesson is mandatory for your group hike!
- Public Manners
- Stranger/Dog Interaction
- Focus
- Stay (Long Duration)
- Place (Long Duration)
- Wait at all doors and gates
- Recall Away from Distractions
- Loose Leash Walking
- Sit/Down with distractions
- How to safely navigate around
real-world obstacles
We will be working on a new set of skills for every outing!
Safety Guidelines:
All dogs must pass a thorough behavior and medical evaluation before joining our program.
Credentials and Continuing Education:
As pet parents take part in our adventures, they will be eligible to take the AKC Urban Canine Good Citizen Test. AKC Urban CGC requires that the dog demonstrate CGC skills and beyond in a setting that includes traffic, crowds, noises, smells and other distractions that are present in a city or town. The processing fee is $20.
Designated Location:
We routinely review and change private locations to keep our travels fun and engaging for all involved.
